61 Buick Electra 225 Convertible

One of just 7,158 Electra 225 Convertibles manufactured by Buick in ’61. This Electra was well equipped with A/C, power steering, power brakes, power windows and power front seat. The high compression 401/325hp “nail head” and automatic transmission were standard for the Electra 225’s which was the top of the line for Buick.

This car has a very nice look and has a driver quality restoration. Meaning it is an easily enjoyable car and is not a trailer queen. The body and paint are a 7 out of 10. The bright-work (stainless, bumpers, grill and emblems) are very nice and have been replaced or re chromed. This convertible has a new black cloth top with a rebuilt power unit.

The interior is almost all new including the seats, carpet and door panels. The dash has been re painted with all the gauges detailed along with a modern stereo system with remote. The only blemishes are that the dash and original steering wheel have a few splits, otherwise the interior is beautiful.

Under the hood has nice detail and has been well maintained. No leaks and many newer parts for reliability. Everything performs as expected except for the A/C. Most of the A/C components are intact, except the compressor, lines and the brackets. A nice dual exhaust system with Flow Master mufflers give the car a great subtle tone. An upgraded brake system with dual resivore master cylinder and front discs give the car great stopping power. Mechanically, this car is above average and ready to enjoy.
