1974 Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe
Description
For sale I have this 1974 Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe. Number 28 of 57 based of the vin number and build sheet. I purchased the car from the 2nd owner it was in a small collection of Cadillac's this was the only car in the collection that was a odd ball. I originally purchased the car to do some mods but all that came to stop after doing more research on the car. In 1974 was going to be the last year of the Chrysler Imperial till they brought them back out in 1981-1983 in 74 Chrysler Imperial sales did very poor against Cadillac and Lincoln so the car was short lived. The Crown Coupe came in a yellowish color witch a yellow interior and brown top. But as you can see this car is no longer that original color. The previous owner did a restoration 19 years that was a full color change as well as interior color change as well. This car exterior was complete strip down the body was blocked to be super straight the vinyl canvas top was also replace with oem vinyl and she still shows in great condition. All door jams trunk jams engine bay jams under hood under trunk were all painted and look like they were painted recently but they were painted 19 years ago. I have not found any rust other then a blister under the passenger door about the size of a dime. Over all the exterior shows incredibly well and straight there are flaws on the paint " ITS 19 YEARS OLD" but she shows better then most cars.....Interior as you can see in the pics its very clean and has held up very well when the interior was done all the vinyl was dyed not replaced the cushions were replaced in a grey material that looks very well for its age. The dash is perfect no cracks or rips wood grain is all in great shape all the interior lights works all gauges work and gauge lights work correctly. power seats, windows, locks, work like they should. The power window switches do have some play to them but they are 43 years old and still work. The power ant switch works correctly and ant goes up and down perfectly fine..... Engine is a 440 4 barrel very strong and solid motor fires right up every time sounds great and drives very well. The previous owner had the motor gone threw months before I purchased the car. I drove the car the day I bought home it was about 130 mile drive with no issues other then a small putter at take off. I had the fluids done the next day and what was removed was very clean really was no need to do fluids but i did them any way. I did replace the starter and the exaust the original muffler that was on it had a hole in it sounded terrible. Now it does have a fresh set of flow master 40 series done from front to back. The AC works and is very cold. The AC controller has 2 speeds low and high but it changes on its own while driving but it does blow cold. Running wise it runs very well I drive it a couple days a week 60-70 miles round trip and still no issues but the putter is still there. The previous owner had the original factory carb rebuilt it may be a ajustmeant but i may be wrong..... The car is not perfect but it looks better then most out there the gentleman i bought from did not hesitate to spend the money right when he did the resto back then put its not perfect being these car are rare this one is very unique after back tracking this car was a big talk back in the day do to looking better in black then what Chrysler offer.... I do have the build sheet and original books for this car and pics of the restoration along with more pics. The windshield does have a crack on the left side but not in drivers site over all the car will make some one very happy......If you have any questions please feel free to call I can provide more pics and as much info as I can based on what I know on the car.....813-693-0105 Jovan or Susan.
