Up for auction is a 1979 Ford F150 4x4. This truck was completely nut & bolt and off the frame restored approximately 8 years ago. The previous owner only put about 1000 miles on the truck since that time. The speedometer reads 42,481 and the title says actual mileage however Im not guaranteeing that the miles are original.
I just had the entire truck serviced including oil & filter change, complete chassis lube, transfer case and transmission service, and brakes to include new master cylinder and 2 new rotors. The truck runs great. It is a 351m motor (as far as I can tell) with a 4-speed granny low transmission. The motor has an Edelbrock aluminum intake with a Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor w/electric choke. It also has headers and dual stainless exhaust.
The paint and the body as you can plainly see in the many pictures is excellent. The truck is laser straight and the paint is slick like glass. It is a super high-quality paint and body. The chrome and trim is basically flawless and all the glass is new including a sliding rear window. The wheels are the original type (actually may be original) and the tires are General Grabber AT2s 31x10.5x15LT. All the lights, turn signals and so forth work as designed.
The underside was painted red like the top on a rotisserie restoration. The frame is black with all red Poly bushings. It has Skyjacker coils and Rancho 5000 dual shocks on each side in the front and 2 more in the rear. There is no rust anywhere not even surface rust.
The interior is plain and simple with a recovered seat and an overhead stereo/speaker setup. I also have a new rubber floormat with underlay not installed that comes with the truck. All the gauges work except the fuel gauge only goes up to a quarter tank when full. (it does have a new gas tank underneath).
This is a super nice restored pickup with a lot of money invested. The only negatives that I know of is the fuel gauge as mentioned above and even though the tires have plenty of tread (almost 100%)
they are older and a cheap set of tires. If I were keeping the truck I would put a set of BFG All terrains on (33 s).
No disappointments here
this is the nicest restored 79 F150 that I have seen!
