Hi everyone, this is a very clean original and un-restored 1968 Mustang coupe with 48,000 miles and mostly original paint. The original owner, Walter Kleman of Allentown, PA pampered this car from when he purchased it new from Kelly Motors (now Kelly Auto Group) in Emmaus, PA on March 11, 1968. He owned the car until 2016. I am the third owner, and it is well documented. If you are a Mustang purist or just appreciate really nice un-restored cars, then read on.
The car is still wearing most of its original Royal Maroon paint, and its original black interior is near perfect. The original chrome is very nice all the way around. It is equipped with the 200cid 6 cylinder engine, 3 speed manual transmission, 3.20 rear, hood mounted directional signal lights and full wheel covers. It throws off a really nice appearance. You can see lots more photos using this link:1968 Mustang (84)
The car has had lots of recent maintenance after it had been sitting in the original owner's garage for a long time. In 2016 it received a new gas tank, radiator, brake system including master cylinder and correct 6.95x14 tires. The car runs, drives, stops and starts very nicely. I drove the car on a 2 hour trip very recently, and it did not miss a beat.
The original paint still shines very nicely. It has had a couple of spots blown in but a vast majority of the paint appears to be factory original to me. I am a long time collector of un-restored cars, and I am happy to say this is a really nice one. It would be hard to find an original one that is nicer than this. The underside is solid, solid, solid. The only area I can see at all is the very bottom of the rear quarters on both sides have had small, and I mean small patches. Otherwise I see no evidence of any bodywork anywhere. The original spare appears to have never been used and looks like an NOS tire.
The original owner installed an 8 track tape player under the dash with speakers on the rear package tray, small mud flaps as well as a manual choke. Otherwise nothing appears to have been modified.
I am a long time collector and Ebayer. I am not a dealer. Please feel free to contact me with questions at 201-406-4423. I require a $500 deposit at the time of the end of the auction. If the auction ends, you pay the deposit, and then physically come here to see the car and you are not happy with it, I will refund your deposit and you are not obligated to buy it. That's how confident I am with the quality of this car and the likelihood you will be pleased as well. If you pay the deposit and/or pay for the car in full and ship it sight unseen, it is your car and there are no refunds. I think this approach is very fair, hope you do to. Any shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. The car is being offered on an as is where is basis with no warranties or guarantees express, written or implied. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks for looking.
