Description

Nostalgic 1967 International Scout 800 traveltop 4x4 4 speed
NEW PAINT APRIL 2019
New 2 stage PPG Tahitian Yellow paint with urethane clear coat. The new exterior paint has a nice glow to it and a nice shine. This is the original color.
All exterior body panels were thoroughly sanded down and then primed with polyester primer surfacer. The primer was then hand block sanded prior to refinishing with PPG basecoat and clear urethane. This Scout is a low rust unit. There were only 2 spots of exterior rust, and they received custom fabricated, welded in patches.
NEW BLACK LEATHERETTE OXEN UPHOLSTERY MARCH 2019
Reupholstered front bucket seats and reupholstered rear bench seat.
Existing carpet and rubber front floor mats are also in the Scout. Seats are the original buckets. Factory passenger seat tilts forward as original.
NEW SUSPENSION
Scout has a nice stance with all new springs front and rear, new shock absorbers, and new shackles. Currently it has 16" steel wheels painted white. A set of bigger tires and wheels would fit easily if desired.
NEW BODY BUSHINGS
Bushings between body and frame have been replaced.
CHROME TRIM
New left door chrome side view mirror. Chrome headlight rings. Nice chrome door handles. Repainted chrome IH hood emblem. Chrome "All Wheel drive" and Scout emblems. Bright aluminum turn signal bezels
New front turn signal lenses
Custom steel front bumper
Original style rear step bumper
196 International Comanche 4 Engine
This came with the larger 4 cylinder engine, which incidentally had more power than the 152 Turbo version. I have driven the scout around on the property here and I've tested the 4x4 in high and low range. I had fun driving it around and I like the truck a lot, but we need to do some home upgrades. It has brakes and steers as well. It felt right at home driving in the rain soaked grassy dirt and idled smoothly at rest, with good oil pressure
Aftermarket performance air cleaner
There is a small 12V air compressor under the hood (I have never used it)
T-45 Option 4 speed transmission
Transmission is the sought after 4 speed, International option “T-45” and is shown on the Line Set Ticket. The 4 speed had better ranges than the commonly installed 3 speed trans.
Differential gearing from factory 4.27:1.
All glass is good and windows do roll up and down (require some loving assistance as most Scouts do).
Tailgate, hood, and hard top liftgate all open and close without issues. Doors open and close without problems.
Completely removable steel hardtop is included (unrestored) with all glass and operational rear liftgate which shuts tightly when the knob is turned.
Headlights and taillights work, Oil pressure gauge works, Choke is hooked up and operational, Horn works (button on dash), Heater blower fan works
Shoulder harness seat belts are installed in the Scout.
