1966 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe Historic Race Car. SCCA log book #83-2025. Built to 1998 Specs Chassis #1E31669 Body#4E22606. Goal of original builder was to build a competitive SCCA E-Type Race Car. Car was stripped to bare tub, new tube frame and roll cage fabricated. Molds and fiberglass rear quarter panels were made to cover 12” slicks. Chassis is a 2x3 boxed tube frame. 1.50x.095 Rollcage. Weight with driver and fuel 2360lbs. Jaguar sub frames modified by Coventry Classics. Front Suspension, Jaguar Lower A-Arms, upper A-Arms adjustable heim jointed by Coventry Classics, Carrera Coil over shocks, Adjustable Sway bars front and rear by Coventry Classics. Rear Suspension: XJS independent power lock, 3.73-1 gear ratio. Brakes: Coleman/Coventry Classics/ 13” vented front, 12” vented rear. Calipers: Outlaw billet aluminum 4-piston. Master Cylinders: Tilton. Wheels GT2: 12x16 and 10x16 DuraLite Racing. Body: Jaguar/Coventry Classics: Steel, Aluminum, Fiberglass, Polycarbonate. Aluminum racing seat with 5 point harness. Bonnet: Predator/Coventry Classics carbon fiber. Instruments, VDO Pro-panel. Transmission: Tremec 5-speed modified Coventry Classsics to handle 450 ft lb torque. .86 overdrive, Bell Housing Coventry Classics, Clutch: Quarter Master 5” Triple Disc, Flex Plate Coventry Classics. Engine Jaguar/Coventry Classics 4.2 DOHC Hemi Head 6 cylinder. 12.5 to 1 CR Venolia Pistons. Ported Head, Crane Cams ground to Coventry Classics specs. Weber 42mm carbs with cold/ram air box. Three gallon dry sump oil system by Coventry Classics. ATI Super Damper. Electromotive/Coventry Classics crank triggered DIS ignition system. 375HP / 415 Ft lbs torque. Ceramic and Molly coatings by Coventry Classics on head, pistons, bearings, and valve springs. Coventry Classics ceramic coated Headers. All previous modifications made in house at Coventry Classics in conjunction with the listed vendors……Car set new GT2 track record in its debut race at Sebring June 6th 1998. Car went on to be refined and winning at regional and national level road races. Qualified for SCCA National Championship Runoffs in 2000. Raced through Aug of 2001 when SCCA dropped the E-Type from GT2 and made it a Vintage only car. Some believe this car forced the rule to be changed because it competed and won at a 2000 GT2 level!! Quite a racecar. Signed Limited Edition (only 50) Bonnet Badge by Jean Baracat Design to commemorate the Sebring track record. Shown at the JCOF Celebration concourse Sept ’98 with a score of 99.41. Featured in the Snap-On Tools Showoffs poster in 2000. Four Land Speed Records in June 2006….. JCNA Concours score: 99.31 9/9/98, 9.996 9/16/06, 9.997 10/07/06 and 10.0 at 2006 North American class SO2 Champion……. East Coast timing Association 2006 9th in points out of 103 cars….. Car has resided for the last 5 years in a private museum…. Car is currently prepped for Race, Show, or Display.
