Description

Hi,
Thanks for looking at the reluctant sale of my Range Rover Classic.
She needs a bit of love and a few parts which I could supply to you when I return to my business supplying Land Rover parts in July 2018.
The Good
Clean ownership title in my name and current California SMOG certificate.Vehicle Registration paid until the end of July 2018.Lifted coil suspension by 2 inches so fun to drive with better road visibility.Genuine low mileage (See vehicle report) 111,829 at the time of typing the advert.20/50 Oil and filter change 05/06/18Swivel Balls topped up with One Shot Grease 05/06/18Engine timing done.Transmission and engine run very well. When I bought the vehicle we washed all of the carpeting except from the transmission tunnel so the vehicle does not smell inside.Replacement cabin filters fitted for the air intake.Wipac Quadoptic halogen changeable bulb headlights fitted.New BF Goodrich Rugged trail spare tyre with matching alloy included with the sale.Heater and fan work great.Brakes are very good.Parking brake holds well.Centre silencer of muffler replaced for straight through pipe, nice V8 sound. The rear leather seats and seat belts are includedand can be bolted back in if needed (We still use the vehicle for an occasional stay near the beach)Original Land Rover tyre jack supplied.Cooling system doesn't leak. Both differentials have had the oil changed.Prop shafts greased.Steering column plastic cowling which holds the headlight switch and wiper switch will be reffitted.Borg Warner Transfer case oil changed. No warning lights on the dash.Power cut off switch on battery.New tailgate struts and one new tailgate lock latch.Female Tow bar installed if you want to use a tow hook.Abs light goes off as it should after around 5mph.Original owners manual and leather holder included.Chassis is solid, California vehicle so in excellent condition underneath.I've always used the most expensive gasoline and not used the vehicle off road.
The not so good & what I know,
Rear drivers side spring has slightly compressed (OME762)
Rear tires ideally need replacing (1 new BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tyreis supplied)
Front brake pads need replacing.
The Boge leveling unit underneath I believe needs the top bush replacing as its knocking. Having read some forums on this several people have simply removed it)
If the vehicle sells for the buy it now price and once you have paid I will remove the Boge unit, fit a new rear drivers side OME spring and another NEW BF GOODRICH RUGGED TRAIL tyre to the rear to make a new pair. The brake fluid reservoir seals are leaking slightly. No working stereo (the wiring is there to fit one)Dog has kindly customised the rear side windows with its nails. The main seal between the engine and transmission leaks oil, roughly 1 Quart every 600 Miles.Passenger side swivel ball needs has a slight leak (Either replace the seal or just keep topping it up)Fuse blows for drivers seat & interior lights (I dont know why this happens)Drivers side door mirror needs replacing (I am in the process of purchasing one to fit)Door catch holder needs needs a replacement (I am purchasing one and will refit the drivers door card)Sunroof opens completely but doesn't close completely (Not sure why as haven't investigated yet)No load cover or spare wheel cover.ABS Pump is a little noisy, but working.
AC system in place but I've never used it. No belt on the pump.Front seats could do with covers or reconditioning (I have covers in the UK so can supply in a separate sale after purchase)Someone scraped the drivers side door and did not stop. (see pictures / not recorded)
The keys to the vehicle are worn down due to age and it can sometimes be a bit of a fiddle to start unless you leave the key in and then its ok.Options are,
1) Leave one of the spare keys in the ignition and use a steering lock (what I do)2) I can contact Land Rover for you to get a replacement made from the VIN at basic cost to you.3)A replacement Ignition barrel with key will be supplied with the vehicle if you would like to change it.Last time I checked over the wheels the drivers side wheel bearing had very slight play, just keep an eye on it. I will supply a new bearing with the sale.
Conclusion
I believe the buyer has a few options with this Classic.1. Just fix the mechanics and use it as a dedicated off road vehicle.2. Use it as a daily driver and in addition to fixing the mechanics fix anything else which bothers you.3. Restore the vehicle using parts I or others can supply.
I have tried to think of everything I can because I value my feedback and whoever buys the vehicle I want them to be completely aware of the issues I am aware of .
If you wish to send transport to collect the vehicle then I can be around for that.
Any questions please message me through eBay and I'll post answers relating to the vehicle for others to see.Payment in cash or bank transfer please, no PayPal.
Please message if you wish to view before buying as I am happy to show you around the Classic and take you for a drive.
Many thanks,
Mark
