European Motor Studio is very excited to offer this rare final year 1987 Lotus Turbo Esprit HCi finished in Calypso Red over Tan. After leaving the Hethel Norfolk factory in February of 1987, this Esprit was sent to Southern CA where the car sold new to its first owner in 1987. The second owner purchased the car in in 2007 and moved the car to Northern CA where it lived until moving to AZ with the third owner in 2011.... The Calypso paint is mostly original and shows incredibly well for its age with a deep shine and luster and no clear coat issues. There are a few minor stone chips in the lower front skirt and one touched up chip on the driver side rear quarter and one small chip in the driver door edge where it meets the front fender. All of the trim is in great shape with very minor signs. The front bumper has an excellent fit with no warpage or sagging like most Esprit's see over the years. The all original Connolly leather interior is in excellent condition with minor age to the driver seat. There are no tears or broken seams anywhere. The leather still has a nice feel and smell. The carpets are in good shape with some age to the driver foot well and a heel mark. The leather dash is in beautiful condition with no issues with shrinkage or leather peeling back. All of the leather on the console, dash and door panels have excellent fit. The 2.2 liter 4 cylinder HCi Turbo is in excellent condition pulling incredibly strong and boosting properly. The engine has outstanding power and runs smooth. The car has just undergone a full major engine service including the timing belt, tensioners, fuel pumps, fuel accumulator, filters, plugs and wires along with new cam cover gaskets, seals and o rings, and the cam housing seals and o rings. The car also received a full valve job and all fluids. A brand new battery and all four new tires have just been installed along with a new voltage stabilizer, fuel tank sender and new radiator hoses. The clutch hydraulics were also overhauled with a new slave. All of the electronics are operating as designed down to the original radio with power antenna. The headlights open with the switch and all of the lights are working including the dash lights and exterior lights. This is an outstanding running and driving car has been well cared for and just undergone a major mechanical service. A clean Carfax documents the mileage and the clean accident history.
