Description

MGB roadster, 1964

Rust free, Black Plate California car, excellent mechanicals and trim

Relisted due to 'disappearing buyer.' One of the earliest and aesthetically most desirable MGBs…owned for many years by a retired English engineer, in California since new. IF EVER an MGB will be considered as a fine addition to a serious collection, it will certainly be a car such as this…an early ‘pull handle’ MGB. Its 98hp engine giving 105 mph performance, excellent ride, handling, steering, shifting, and timeless looks.

Excellent body with very good dark British Racing Green paint, perfect floors, mostly new interior…..beautifully done with matching seats, door panels, door tops, and dash top.

Custom dark green carpets (hard to see in the photos but really nicely done), original steering wheel and radio, new windshield, new convertible top, boot cover.

Engine: 155-160 psi compression in every cylinder, 60+ psi oil pressure when warm (note validation in photo), zero smoke cold or hot. Doesn’t come better in ANY other MGB. Transmission is quiet and shifts very nicely, brakes, steering, ride, etc. are all first rate.

Wire wheels, oil cooler, new clutch hydraulics, excellent wiring and electricals, mostly new chrome, very good rubber seals (windshield, headlight, door tops, etc.) and overall, very clean appearance.

What makes ownership of an MGB so enjoyable is the superb drivability, easy access to new and used parts, simple repairs and servicing, and a high degree of reliability. Will easily cruise well above ANY speed limits, is roomy and comfortable, and is (best of all) a blast to drive.
