1956 Packard Clipper Deluxe- NO RESERVE
Description
This is a NO RESERVE auction so bid with confidence. Iinheritedthis1956 Packard Clipper
from my dad. It's all original and complete.
This car is really cool and unique in so many ways! I'd really like to keep working on it but I just don't have the time any longer. And I really need the money right now to pay my bills. I cleaned it up really good inside and out and I got the engine running really well on it. (gapped the points/spark plugs, new fan belt, new heather hoses, oil changed) It didn't take much to get it running an I didn't even touch thecarburetorand it fired right up!! I'm a master mechanic and honestly the original 352c.i. 240hp engine it sounds really healthy!
I'll try to upload a video of it running soon and post a link to it here.Unfortunately, I haven't been able to test drive it yet because the brakes still need rebuilt. The body panels on this thing are really straight with only a couple spots that need work. The trunk lid, spare tire well in the trunk andfront floor boards have holes rusted through them. Also it looks like
the rear passenger side lower fender has asectionthatwas riveted together during aprevious repair, but the rivets came undone. The rest of the car is really solid. And it looks like there has been very little body work done on it previously. I don't see any old cracked body filler (Bondo) spots or any thing like that on it like you see on so many other older cars. I don't see any rust on the lower rockers or frame either. So it should not take a lot body work to get it ready for paint.
It has a clear title. Bidders with zero feedback will be removed unless they contact me first. $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours and full payment due within 7 days. Payments need to clear before I'll release the car to you. You have a maximum of 30 days to remove the car from my property. I copied and pasted some specs on the car for you below.
If you have any question or want more photos of anything specific just let me know.Thanks,Dave208 five82 - 6one22

GENERAL INFORMATION: |
Clipper is now formally registered as a separate make for 1956. As such, Packard script plate is eliminated, but later reinstated in production and offered to previous owners as a retrofit. As with 55th Series, Deluxe is the entry-level Clipper, but available only as a four-door sedan. Headlamp bezels are restyled, increasing the appearance of overall length; turn signals relocated from grille to front fender. Front bumper guards are moved outboard; air opening in lower valence is enlarged and also includes a mesh panel. Minimal side trim consisting of disconnected straight spears now limits optional two-tone paint to the roof area. Rear fender skirts and rocker panel moldings are optional. Trunk lid is squared off; rear bumper is a completely new design, integrated with new shark-fin taillights, which would remain popular with customizers for decades to come. New electric door locks, offered in conjunction with electric (power) window lifts on other sedans, are not available on this model. Torsion-Level suspension is now available as an option, but becomes standard equipment in May of 1956. -BH |
