1950 Studebaker Champion Convertible. Came from a large estate collection. It has what appears to be the original Studebaker flathead-6 with 3-on-the-tree transmission and overdrive. Not many of these convertibles are left.

The car had been sitting for many years. Added a new fuel pump, fuel lines, and filter, new NOS brakes all around, new NOS emergency brake cables, new NOS master cylinder, new NOS hill-holder, and a new battery. Car starts right up. Runs fine.

The paint on this car is about a 7 out of 10. It just wasn't cleared with enough coats. There is no rust or bondo anywhere on the body or the firewall that I could find. No dings anywhere or chips. There is one scratch on the drivers side door handle. It really does look great.

The top is manual and appears to be recently replaced. It is in great condition.

The floors in this car are the issue. They were repaired previously by cutting out the old rot and laying down new pans and galvanized metal over the holes. The trunk pan was repaired with fiberglass. This should all be redone at some point correctly. (see pics) Classic Enterprises makes reproduction floor panels and supports for this car. Check them out on the net.

Another issue is the transmission is not pulling up to full speed. As the RPM's increase the car does not speed up. It could be that the clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced.

Stephen Allen's Studebaker Parts has tons of NOS and new parts for this car. Check them out as well.

These Convertible Champions can sell for over $25k restored. I would think $5-10k would go along way on this car.
