Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a lovingly restored 1955 Studebaker Conestoga 2 door Wagon. Studebaker produced the Conestoga wagon for only two years in 1954 and 1955. The wagon was only available in a 2 door style and featured a two piece rear tailgate to access the rear area. Under the hood of this particular example is the original "Victory Six" L-Head 185 CID Inline 6 cylinder. Backing the I6 is a 3 speed manual transmission which is shifted on the column. This car has undergone a complete, and very correct restoration which has brought the condition to better than new. The car runs and drives wonderfully and could easily be taken straight to a show. The underside is nicely finished as well as the engine bay which shows the care that has been taken restoring the car. Every piece has been rebuilt, replated, or refinished in some way. The exterior is finished in a very unique, and correct Sonora color which screams 1950s. It sits on hub caps with wide white wall tires. This one even features the factory sun visor over the front glass. The interior has been reupholstered using NOS material. It's neat to think how a car like this compares to the minivans of modern day. One thing is for sure, a car like this is a heck of a lot more stylish. If you're looking for a unique car to take to shows or simply to drive an enjoy, this is the one.
