FAMOUS CLASSIC 1955 VW
RAG TOP OVAL WINDOW
SoCal Magazine VOLKSROD HOT ROD
I'm selling from my vintage car collection,
the FAMOUS. . .
The Original "SoCal Volksrod"
Professionally built by College of Art and Design professor and hot rodder, Malcom Smith of California. This car was one of the pioneer examples of the "Vrod" movement from southern California. A low mileage, pampered Hot Rod classic, always in private collections. Featured in numerous car magazines! ( see photo)
I am reluctantly offering this favorite VW as I must clear space in my garage....something must go!
THIS CAR LOOKS JUST AS IT WAS NEWLY BUILT!
SHOW ROOM CONDITION!
No damage, filler scratches, rust or fiberglass!
Perfect Powder coated wire wheels and frame pan!
This car has always been in enclosed private collection since it was constructed and has limited mileage and low engine hours. 1740 CC engine with aluminum heads and powder coated stinger exhaust. I have only put less than 250 miles on the car since I have owned it!

CONDITION: This wonderful, historic car has always been pampered and has very low mileage ( less than 12K total from new?) Always properly serviced and maintained ( owner prior to me was a large VW dealer / collector.) Engine is very powerful for this light oval window bug and is beautifully detailed. Dual Chrome Delortos.
Car has never had an odometer gauge. I suspect the front wheels could be rebalanced again after I mounted NEW TIRES last November. ( I only drive the car to local cruise ins and shows.)
Car is located near Daytona Florida. I am happy to store the car for later pickup after payment in full has been paid by buyer. Payment in full is required within 2 days after close of auction.
Car is sold as is without any warrantees or guarantee. I accept PayPal. Seller is responsible for any PP transfer fees if any.
This is not some backyard chopRod!
. . . But a fun, great running, reliable, professionally built hot rod that turns heads every time its driven!
Clear Florida title!
( NOTE: Florida title is for a 1966 modelas the car is a 1956 oval rag top body on a 1966 frame TUB! Car was inspected by Florida police at time of titling. Documents available.)
