Description
1966 Volvo 122 S Sedan. Automatic transmission. This car was recently re-commissioned to run in the PittsburghVintage Grand Prix Kickoff Rallye on July 1, 2018. I drove the car 180 miles from Columbus, OH to Pittsburgh, then participated in the vintage rally (80 miles), then returned 180 miles from Pittsburgh to Columbus with no issues.
Work performed included:
*Rebuilt front suspension, including ball joints (upper and lower), tie rods and tie rod ends, upper/lower control arm bushings, sway arm bushings, front shock absorbers, rotors turned, NEW calipers/pads/flex brake hoses. Bearings re-packed.
*All hard and soft brake lines replaced.
*New rear drum left side; right drum turned. New rear wheel cylinders/brake shoes, and hardware.
*Rear shock absorbers.
*New tires, now with approx. 500 miles on them.
*New fuel Pump
*New water pump.
*New fan belt.
*Complete tune-up with new points/condenser/rotor/dist. cap/wires/spark plugs.
*New muffler
*Upper/lower radiator hoses, new rubber fuel lines
*New air filters
There are probably more new items I'm forgetting. The car starts well, idles well, and drives well. Brakes work well, no issues on the very hilly course of the rally in Pittsburgh.
The underbody of the car is in very good condition. Rockers are good, and frame members are also good, due to heavy undercoating from the factory. There is a rust through spot at the passenger footwell (3rd underbody photo), but this looks like a relatively easy repair. Spare tire well has a rust through hole about 6" X 6".
Interior, seats, carpet are serviceable but would benefit from restoration. Windlace, window rubber should be replaced. Ignition lock was removed due to broken key (a common issue with these cars), so the car starts with a screwdriver. Replacement coil with lock cylinder included. Headliner was replaced and looks good. There is a small transmission leak where the speedo cable attaches to the transmission.
The body has some dents and dings (see photos), and there are some rust areas (see photos). Please ask any questions, I will be happy to answer. I'm located in Tampa, but the car is in Columbus, OH. Buyer will be responsible for arranging shipping. VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN COLUMBUS, OHIO 43223.

On Jul-06-18 at 05:19:09 PDT, seller added the following information:Fuel gauge is operational. Headlights and tail lights work, brake lights are operational. Dash lights work. Temp gauge is inaccurate. Turn signals do not work. Heater fan and wipers do not work. I suspect the wiper switch and fan switch may be the issue. A working wiper motor is included in the box of parts in the trunk.
