1961 Volvo PV-544
Description
In the family for more than 30 years; I've come to the realization that I have neither the time, nor inclination to take this project any further. As indicated, old "Brutus" is not perfect, but it certainly draws it's share of attention, and has been shown in regional car shows. However, for the most part. it just sits in the garage. In fact: I've put but 64 miles on it in the last two years!
A couple of key aspects for potential buyers:Fully reupholstered to original design just several years ago. Many new (uninstalled) steering parts such as King Pins, tie rod ends, etc.Engine is a 1975 Volvo B20F which has been modified with Weber carburetion.12-Volt electrical system (except blower fan and wiper motor which have been stepped down to 6V).Several boxes of miscellaneous used and unused brake, interior, and electrical components. For the most part, any modifications have used Volvo components spanning several decades. A case in point would be the color-matching automatic garage/gate opener ("HomeLink" visors from a Volvo S60.
Candidly, if I were to keep it, I'd: Replace both the front crank and rear main seals. They're not bad, but sitting idle has not been good to them and, Secondly, Finish work on the exhaust system. There is a system in place which works, but is strictly an interim solution to keeping the rear ANSA pipes.
