This car is a 1958 Volvo PV444 with a later model 1.8-liter B18 five-main-bearing, twin-SU carb, four-cylinder engine and an all-synchro four-speed gearbox.
It features an aftermarket grey carpet kit, front seat lap belts, extra brake light above rear widow and the desirable opening rear seat windows and an AM/FM cassette radio.
All lights (with the exception of rear license plate light), turn indicators, gages and horn work. The interior upholstery is in mostly good condition with some signs of wear.The headliner is in near new condition. All glass is in good condition.
Rear seat floor pans have been replaced. Breaks are in good condition but the tires will need to be replaced.
There are small dents, chips, paint scuffs and surface rust spots as shown in the picture gallery.The trunk lid and the panel below the trunk show more serious rust issues.The panel is available from various classic Volvo parts dealers and a good condition trunk lid is included. The front bumper is missing the over-rider and both bumpers need re-chroming. Service has been maintained and the motor is strong and runs well. The 21,106 mileage may date from the B18 engine swap.
The PV444 has the classic split front windshield, old-school round speedometer and banjo style steering wheel. With the addition of the nearly indestructible B18 engine the 444 is a fun car to drive and always elicits a lot of attention.
