1992 SSP Ford Mustang
Description
For sale is my 1992 Ford Mustang Ex-Florida Highway Patrol SSP coupe. Car is an original 5.0 5-speed pursuit vehicle out of Tallahassee, FL. DHSMV #100788
None the less these cars are becoming a highly desired collectible to both mustang fans and special service vehicle restoration hobbyist. Becoming harder to find year after year, especially original 5-speed cars.
It is a nice southern rust free car, that has not been chopped up and molested just to take down the drag strip or around the dirt track. This car is pretty much all original besides a few upgrades and replacements components. The following items include, an aftermarket cd/radio, Flowmaster mufflers (still has original tail pipes with the cats and stainless steel tips), lowering springs ( do have the heavy duty ssp springs in the trunk of the car), 16" pony wheels ( still have the polished 15" 10 hole wheels that can go with the car), the driver and passenger side seats are gray tweed rather than the cloth. (rear seats are the gray cloth) and last the paint. The car was originally a marked car, black w/tan top. The car was already painted before I got it and the hole were the spotlight was on the pillar was welded up but the interior trim on the inside still has the hole where it used to be there. I kept the car white when I had it repainted back in November of last year.
The car does still have the rain guards that was exclusive to a FL SSP car. Most state cars didn't not come equipped with them so it's really rare to find a car that still has them. I did replace the bezel around the shifter but kept the original one due to the radio clip still being attached to it. It does have the relocated trunk release button under the steering wheel, 160 calibrated speedo, The extra dome light located above the shifter, the housing was busted, but the bracket holding the bulb and the switch is still there and functions has it should. Also has the standard dome light with the 2 map light switches. Its is manual windows and doors with power side mirrors, which was what FL hwy patrol requested on their pursuit vehicles. The headliner is a bit of an eye sore, was stapled up by previous owner due to some sagging.
The car is a blast to drive, catches lots of attention everywhere it goes. Really hate to see it go but due to a new family addition I needed a vehicle more suited for a family of four. I usually drive the car 2-3 times a week, to work on Friday's and on the weekends depending on the weather conditions, but I will not be driving it has of today due to listing it for sale.
If you have any questions feel free to message me and I will try to answer them as soon as possible. Thank you for taking the time to look at my listing and have a blessed day.
