1992 Ford Mustang
Description
1992 Ford Mustang Fox body notch-back, 4 cylinder. This is a clean, economical, good looking car. It is dependable and has been driven every day for the last 6 months by a college student (my daughter's boyfriend). Paint is recent and shows well, and although it is not a high end job it looks pretty nice. It rained this evening when I took pics and I didn't bother to wipe it down or clean it. The interior does not have any rips or tears but does have some stains and normal signs of wear. The car does not smoke and the transmission shifts smoothly during acceleration. The brakes are very good and the car has had a recent tune up and service. I have sold several cars here over the years and in the interest of full disclosure I want to be sure you know what you are getting and are happy with the car. Its nice but does have some issues as most older cars do and I want to go over all the ones I'm aware of: There is far too much play in the steering wheel - I have been underneath it and it is not in the chassis or steering mechanisms. I believe the issue to be in the rack though I am not certain. It does have power steering that works and doesn't make noise or leak. The transmission spots and looses about 1 quart of fluid every couple months. It looks like its coming from the front pump seal. The headliner sags. The luggage rack on the trunk is loose and needs secure. 3 of the tires have decent tread on them, the drivers rear does not - was replaced with a used one after a flat. Passenger rear wheel is missing the center cap and one lug nut. The starter stays engaged for about 5 seconds when starting up. After that it's normal, still it does start every time - it seems like an odd problem but not that uncommon an issue on these cars from what little I've read, though I am not sure the cause. The glass on the passenger side mirror has fallen off and the outside of the mirror mount has a hole in it from where it hit something. The drivers door hinges sag and you have to lift it up a little or slam it to close the door each time (they don't have pins and bushings like Chevy). The car does show low mileage considering it's age and it's believable given how smooth the power-train drives. I still cannot be certain of it as it is mileage exempt on the title and I do know that the interior and some body parts were off this car for several years as the PO intended to build a drag car but never got around to it. Much of that time was likely outside judging from the weatherstripping and sun fade on the black trim when I first saw it. With that said there is no rust on the body or in any of the corners, floor-pans are solid and all the glass is in tact. It's decent but by no means a garage kept cream puff. Someone is going to get a pretty good car at a fairly low price I suspect. The auction is at no reserve and will be sold right here at close regardless. There is a $100 deposit due via Paypal within 24 hours of close and the balance must be paid within 3 days, either cash in person or via wire transfer. If additional time is required to pick up the car we can work it out but the balance must be paid in full during the 3 days so be prepared if you bid (I had a bad experience prior). This is a clear Florida title in my name with no issues. Thanks so much for checking it out and good luck!
